An environment in which to alleviate mental static and indulge in the occasional creative hoo-ha. I will also share my odd fixation on Canadian bands. And start too many phrases with 'and', 'but', and 'or' (Conjunction Junction, what's your function?). Now sit down, hang on and shut up.

Does anyone else feel the need?
So admitting it is half the battle, right? Then I admit it. I am an utterly shameless car commercial fan. Oh, not the cars themselves... although the Cadillac CTS/STS one where it wildly chases all the other cars around the ballroom is great (kinda reminds me of, well, me!)...but of the songs they play. I still think I like the use of 20th Century Boy (Mark Bolan/T-Rex) in the Mitsubishi commercial a couple of years ago. For the sake of discussion, it was also redone by Placebo for the movie Velvet Goldmine.
No matter though, I simply find myself liking the music in car commercials better than most of what is on the radio. Lately there has been an influx of blues - from delta to memphis, rock to slit-your-wrist... all types of blues. This I love. Whatever I am doing, if I hear one of these musical gems, my butt starts to wiggle almost uncontrollably. Soon enough, I find that I am upright and arms are flailing about. (This happened EVERY time I heard 2oth Century Boy.) Unfortunately... a few times... I made the 'rocker' face and played air guitar. Iknow, I know, it's not pretty. But it IS a hell of alot of FUN! WooHoo! Shake yo' ass...
Ahem, ok... I'm ok now. Until the next commercial comes on... warning: flailing body parts.
I hope the link for 20th Century Boy works, if not, sorry - it's a great song! You should be able to scroll to the bottom to hear a sample.

So, let me see.
You're leaping out of the chair with flailing arms, air guitaring and pulling 'that' face, all while shaking your rear about ?
That's quite some picture you conjure up :o)
I agree thoroughly- car commercials do have the best music. I have also been known to dance to this music, though I generally don't flail my limbs- THAT I leave for the clubs... where they can really do some damage ;).
Well, some commercials can drive me nuts. Like that Mazda commercial with the "zoom zoom zoom, yah zoom zoom zoom." Uggh...my stomach suddenly hurts.
Or, for a non-car commercial, that goddamn Burger King commercial with Hootie (of the Blowfish) singing that goddamn bacon cheddar ranch song. I lunge for the mute button when that one comes on.
So here's the scenario... Carpathian, Hans and I will dance about, Carr will imaging it happening and Skrambled will lunge for the mute button. But Skramled has to wear the hat and chaps from the commercial....lol. Wait Carr, you might not want to imagine THAT part...
HAH! Sounds like a rollicking good time to me. Though after having read Skrambled's comment- I agree, the zoom zoom zoom one really irks me- REALLY. So if this happens, it'll have to be one of the GOOD car commercials!
