Ok, other than the crickets....

Thank you all for the wonderful holiday and new year greetings! I've been away from my pc for, oh, something like 20, 30 days or so now? Yeah. Electronic DTs, lemme tell ya. Should get my pc set up again within a week or two at most so I can catch up.
Work is fine and I've been doing alot of it lately. Not that I'm complaining, because I'm not. Other than some basic crap, like an icky cold, I've been holding my own. No meltdowns through the holiday season... yay!
So very many things have been going through my head and if only I'd written them down, I'd have something to say here. Well, some I do remember and I will write about but they were just about human nature and how it can be such a bizarre thing.
On the down side, both a friend and an acquaintance of mine were stabbed a few days ago. Organs have been repaired and some removed and they are still in critical condition under constant sedation (drug-induced coma) to give their bodies time to heal. Send some good thoughts to Jason and Ray for me, will ya? They have just enough 'stubborn' in them to make it through but an extra good vibe here and there couldn't hurt. Thanks!
I will be writing more. To you. To me. For anyone that is interested in listening basically. I've found this need to dissect behavior patterns, truths, lies, and everything in between. Fascinating, really. So once I'm up and running again, you'll get to add your two cents (substitute any paltry monetary amount here). Well, once I've dusted off these cobwebs...

first of all, i'm sorry about your friend and acquaintance; i'm keeping them in my thoughts.
and second,i'm glad that life has been treating you well. there's so much to look forward to this year, i think, and you've got your eye on the prize. writing being a prize in itself, of course. xx.
I'll add my voice to the chorus of new year good wishes, with an additional thought to whichever deities may be passing by right now for your friends to be ok.
I'm snowed under with uni work (another 1,800 creative words to write and then I can stop....writing them is easy, making sure that they're well written and consistent with a fluent voice is the problem!) so won't be blogging for a little while but you take care now.

illyria - Thanks for keeping them in your thoughts. I seem to be having a moment of some sort of clarity lately and I think it will help me move along.
Ginger Doll - 'Dieties', sometimes you sound so much like me in the phrasing you choose! And we definitely share the same cold and snow, ugh! Best of luck on those 1800 words, you can do it.
Meadow - You're a step ahead, you're reading. We'll find a balance. What of your other creative outlets?
Jarvenpa - I'm certain they appreciate all the good vibes/thoughts. You know, this past month or 6 weeks has been rough but I'm learning from it and looking at why I behave as I do. It's amazing when you allow yourself to do that without judgement. I hear you have a giant storm coming to your neck of the woods - take care and as always, I know you'll care for those around you.
Terri - They're going to come out of this and wonder why they have all these 'international' vibes going on....lol. Ah yes, dissection of human behavior; kind of scary but ever so cool. It's like a mini-truth of life each time you get onto something new!

Been gone a while too - it's good to see that things are OK on your side - stabbings excepted, I guess, but you say your friends are gonna be fine, so I'm just going to take this as a sign that this 2008 is indeed going to be the best 2008, like, ever. For you and me both. ;) (one way to look at it, right?!)

Stacy - Yeah, I think I'm a 'popper', too. When things get busy I still find a minute to stop in and see what's going on. Some day I'll have more time, do you tell yourself that, too? =)
