Do not adjust your set....

You won't believe these words are coming from me, which is why I feel compelled to put it in writing.

Yesterday, I had a good day. I didn't work anywhere. Limited phone calls and dealings with doctors. No fitting 5 hours of lecture into less than 2 hours. None of it.

My mother, grandmother and I went to opening week festivities for a fairly local casino. They are way more into it than I am, but that's ok. It was like a mini vacation. I lost $150 but I'm ok with that. Because I got to step away from the things running tracks in my head. And we ate, and we laughed at people, and we threatened machines and we loved it when my cousin stopped by! Not all of the time was spent happy - face it folks, three generations of women? Eesh. But it was good. And I'm pleased. And I'd do it again.

Very nice! :)

Just please tell me you weren't playing the nickel slots. That area is a whole alternate universe.

I'm glad. Those days of lightness and fun are wonderful treasures.

Jason - I can tell you that I somehow sat down in the wrong row... it was 2-cent-slot-world. I never even knew they existed but it was very, very scary there. *shudder*

Anne - I would have used that phrase more if I'd actually won... ;)

Kitty - Yeah, I just needed a benchmark of sorts, right? Lol, 36 years of intermittent major suckiness for one good day. Who in the hell made THAT deal!? ;)

Jarvenpa - You chose the perfect word - lightness. When you have a distraction, the burdens seem slightly smaller when you see them again.

Yep, laughing at people makes for a wonderful time :)
Glad you had a good day, even if you didn't hit the jackpot... although having a good day is sort of like hitting the jackpot anyway.

Eve I felt relaxed reading this post. LiveWire having a good day has been quite rare lately and although it took a loss of $150, I say it was all worth it :D

Are you REALLY sure you had a good day? I mean, is it really possible? Surely not? :-)

Good days are good to have. And if they're infrequent, they seem so much better.

Good for you!!

Terri - That's one of my favorite hobbies! ;) It is a jackpot of sorts, and just about as rare at times, too.

Tigress - So maybe fun and relaxation does have a pricetag, of $150 or so? It was a nice change.

Nomad - Truth be told, I felt like I had to look up the definition of 'good day'! I'm glad I enjoyed it while it was happening, too. perhaps another one will come along before too, too long!

I am shocked! How dare you have fun AND laugh at people wihtout me?
He he... glad you had a good time.

nice is very, very good. and considering how lacking that word has been in my life as of late, i'm ecstatic for you.

Chitty - How completely rude of me to not invite you for the fun! ;) We'll compare schedules for next time, eh?

Nomad - That one carried me for quite a while! Being a new concept for me and all... ;)

illyria - Isn't that the truth? When you lack the 'niceness' in your life, even the simple things stand out. Sending more 'nice' your way. xoxo
