I'm getting irritated. I'm sick of word verification on here... anyone else?
I'm half tempted to remove it just to see what happens. Has anyone removed it (I don't pay that much attention) or know anyone that has tried to? What happened? Just wondering if the influx of spamments has been reduced in any way.
On a good yet pointless (to you) note, I had some labwork (lipid profile) done for a healthscreening at work today and it would appear that all of my cholesterol levels and triglicerides KICK ASS! I am the envy of many in the lipid conscious world! So for the moment, croaking from clogged arteries isn't much of a possibility. Always a bonus. Finally, something is functioning well within the normal range.
See! SEE! There is something normal about me!!!

Go on. Turn it off. You know you want to. Plus, it has no dignity - so you can always take it back later if need be.
before you do consider how much you want to see post like this.
'Hi! i like your blog, i found it inquisitive, evocative, sumptuous and big. Take a look at My Blog where you can learn about the new wonder drug Madeupatin
hope to see you

Ah, your blood cells are cruising the eight lane arterial highway. Very nice. No bottle-necks there. Cross that one off the list. ;)
Health is very important. I'm glad yours is good!
I agree, turn it off. And then let us know how it goes ;-)
Oh, and you do know that having normal cholesterol levels makes you just a little unusual, don't you?
mwahahahaha!
You don't want to be normal! Normal is boring. We need all the non-normal people there are out there...plus I dont' want to be the one everyone points to as the abnormal person :)
I don't care for the word verfication either, but added it when the spams started.
The first time I tried turning it off I got 3 ads in about 5 minutes. But a week or so ago I tried it again and I've only had 1 ad so far.
But then you won't have the joy of misspelling it four times and having to do it over and over and over again.
I did get the word verification come up as "jizz" the other day . . . I kidd you not.
Ben O.
Anne - I really do... want to turn it off that is. Not sure if I'll cave in to the peer pressure just yet.
Prisoner - Yes, that's what I want to avoid! But at least they are signing them 'love' now.
Jason - Lol, that's right - it's smooth sailin'! Of course an ACME safe may fall on me a la Wile E. Coyote...
Goddess - At least that aspect is good, and I'm very happy! Thanks.
Sappho - Oh no! If you undo yours before I undo mine and you get 87 spamments I'll feel so bad! Then again, some of them are kind of funny! =) Gee, that is love!...lol
Terri - So normal is once again abnormal. Damn. For a moment there I thought I had a fighting chance... =)
John - Well, I certainly don't want you to be the only abnormal one. I'm sure I've got more to work with!
Memphis - Ugh, that's what I'm afraid of. I might turn it off next week and see what happens. If I end up with a zillion deleted comments, we'll know.
Ben - Isn't that the truth! You swear you spelled it right and it refuses to accept it! I think the fact that your verification was 'jizz' is reason enough to keep it on...lol!
Aye, you'd think blogger could come up with a different spam protector wouldn't you?
It is annoying, but better than having to scroll through countless your blkog is healthy porn ad, love you long time comments probably makes up for it.
ahh well my 83 year old grandfather has very high cholesterol - and perfectly clear arteries - go figure
anyway I'm glad you're clear!!
I HATE the word verification!! I use it on my blogger comments but I don't think haloscan has word ver. and I don't think I've ever had a problem there (did I just jinx myself?)
Yay, you are normal!! (sort of, but not totally, which--come on, admit it, wouldn't it be boring?). I turned on the silly word verification thingie on my blog months ago because there was a certain amount of boring spam coming through and it broke my heart(the spam: O Someone is Reading My Blog and Cares...oh,no, they just want me to buy porn...). I have some trouble leaving comments though because I seem to see the letters wrong. Fortunately I get a couple tries at it!
Fence - I DO wish they could come up with something better! I'm not sure I sure I can handle all those spamments again.
Kitty - Lol... now you'll have all sorts of spam on there... isn't that the way it works? One simple comment like that and it's like they 'hear' you!
Heidi - I can't thank my diet (frappuccinos and cheese sandwiches) for the low cholesterol, but I'm happy nonetheless! I've never tried haloscan but I'm not sure how I'd feel about losing my comments. Glad you come back... word verif or not! =)
Jarvenpa - Eh, I'm only normal on paper for a few tests results. That might be the extent of it! ; Yeah, I got tired of the spam and added word verif soon after it was offered. Some of them are pretty funny though, I must admit! You know... I have to retype those words all the time. I swear I put it in properly but blogger doesn't see it that way. Perhaps my comments just resbemble spam?...
Though... now that you've revealed your intentions in your post, the spammers are circling like vultures!
Hehe that's good about your cholesterol levels. That way, when the spam comes a-threatening to send your blood-pressure up, it won't give you a heart attack. :-D
Still not turned off, I notice. I know that it's a bit irritating but I enjoy trying to work out what it means - sometimes I think it has a mind of its own.
I know one person who turned it off and despite one or two spam comments has been happy with his decision.
So, when do you turn it off?
Banzai - That's exactly why I haven't taken it off yet... I'm afraid they 'know' now. If I do turn it off, it is good to know that my chances of a heart attack are greatly reduced...lol.
Nomad - Still on, I know. I'm skeered now! =) Still debating. It does have a mind of it's own - last night I made sure I typed a word in slowly and deliberately and double checked it... still wrong. The bastards. I think it's how they get their kicks.
Ah well the poor techies that spend their live making up those verif. bitmaps need something to amuse themselves, I'm sure. And don't worry - it's not just you they pick on ;-)
I just turned mine off! Will let you know how much spam I get!
Oh, also, Very good on the health front. You shall outlive old Methuselah!
Terri - True, I was being thoughtless and insensitive toward the techies... without them coming up with these things, the unemployment rate would be even higher! =)
Bean - Ack - Let me know! If you get a million, may I suggest you put it right back on? =) How funny... I love it when people say 'Methuselah'!!! I just get weird looks when I use it as a reference point! ;)
