Well, I think I have found a place to live. And no, it does not involve a cylinder block and brake pads. I will find out tomorrow, I hope. Worst case scenario would be Tuesday, but it should be Monday.
So, there's only one real drawback and, er, I'll ignore it for now. Otherwise it meets all of my requirements. As you can see, it has leaded glass decorative windows, lots of light, fabulously huge fans in each room, pocket doors, high baseboards, and a mantle. It's all either new and/or restored. And I'd have a private deck in the back.

So, let's all keep our fingers crossed. First, so that I get it. Second, so that I don't meet with a tragic end there. Ahem. Er, have I mentioned the leaded glass?...
Still no idea when I'll be moving officially but I'll give a heads up. Until then I'll just be hopping on blogs here and there. Of course, when I get all settled in and have my internet up and running I'll be stalking everyone regularly once again. Enjoy the silence and infrequency while it lasts...lol.
Oh, here is something I've learned. This is move #40 (yes, you read right) and #41 will be coming along in about 6 months as this set up is just temporary... so, what have I learned? I'm too old for this shit!!! ;)

wish U luck LW. Guess you are also experiencing a busy period lately. Wish U'ld get to settle asap & get back on everything in regular bases.
& #40!!! i still can't believe what I've read!!! wow!! that might be somewhat a world record :-)
The place looks pretty nice!
It looks great, I'll keep my fingers crossed. And hopefully there's nothing major in the "real" drawback...!
It looks beautiful! I wish you well and look forward to your being back here again!!!
and btw, I have moved 10 times in my life and that was enough for me. Don't want to have to do it again. It is very unsettling. My thoughts are with you.
40 times? I go into mental meltdown at the very thought. You should get yourself a mobile home and be done with it.
40?!?!? yikes!! ohhh maaan!! I have SO much crap that would kill me - I suppose I wouldn't though if I had to move that much
my husband spent most of his childhood moving around and he has almost nothing from those days - the only stuff he really has from when he was a kid is stuff that he's gotten since we've been together (we got together when he was 14)
me? I still have things I had when I was a BABY! lots and lots of THINGS!! I've only moved a handful of times in my life and 3 of them have been in the last 5 years
I HATE temporary moves - we moved into where we are now as a temporary thing - we've been here for almost two years (I think) with no end in sight hehehe
I have a love/hate relationship with this place
anyway - I wish you luck with the new place and that you don't meet with a tragic end there hehehe
is it haunted?!?!?
I REALLY like the windows!!
this place and our last apartment both have 15 foot ceilings - it looks so nice to see NORMAL ceilings!! and so much cheaper to heat!! enjoy them!! hehehe
sometimes I read my comments back and realize I sound like a mental patient!!! hehehe
It looks beautiful. Wishing you all the best!
Dr O2 - Oh yes, very busy! Not sure if 40 is a record, but it sure is alot of moving either way. Hey, wanna help carry some boxes? =)
Bean - Thanks! I really do like it.
Anne - We'll see with the drawback. I'm not overly concerned but perhaps people with more sense would be...
Buddess - Ten times? Oy - I think I reached that by the time I was 8! I'll enjoy my time here as much as possible but I know that #41 is lurking in the not too distant future. Thanks!
Kyknoord - I thought about those big ones you drive but I don't know how to kook up the utilities and no one with anything more than an IQ of 28 would let me drive one.
Kitty - I think I'm more along the lines of your hubby - I have very little. Nomadic lifestyles tend to have few belongings attached to it. But still enough to be a pain in the ass to pack...lol. Oh shit... haunted... I never thought of THAT! Great...lol. These ceilings are a little higher but not so high as to wreak havoc on the heating bill, thank goodness. As far as sounding like a mental patient, I usually sound like that when I write my posts. =)
Goddess - Thank you so much! =) This has been a difficult one!
looks pretty..
41!!!!OAW!!
i've got my fingers crossed for you dear, the place looks sweet - i esp. like the mirrored fire place thingy
Wow - that looks like it was worth waiting for, though obviously it wouldn't have felt like that during that time !
There's something special about a place looking in that state. I dug out pics of my place when I moved in then looked around now - sure doesn't look the same !! ;o)
The place looks great! And definitely more spacious than the Camry.
Looking forward to having you back more regularly.
Have you started the new job yet?
vitcqges - Whatthe hell kind of word verification is this? Some Techie is sitting somewhere rubbing his hands gleefully together, thinking, "Hehe, let's see how long we can make these things before people turn the verification of, mwahahahaha...!"
Hi L,
I really like the space you’ve got there in those pix. Even though it might be temporary for now, but it’s better than sleeping in Camry. With a little TLC this place could look really cozy, you know.
And don’t feel bad dear, we are all too old for this shit.
Good luck ;)
PRETTY!
Looks nice, I like the fireplace mirror thing.
But 40 times! wow!
Still, I suppose it makes for a clutter free existence.
40 times is totally ridiculous! What does your therapist have to say about the effect of all this on your stability? :-)
If you are going to move so often, the car sounds like a very sensible idea as a home even if ablutions won't be that convenient.
Seriously, hope you get the place as it does look very pleasant indeed.
Nice place! But 40 moves??? Wow!
That private deck sounds great though...that would be cool...:)
Heeeeeeeeeey, where is the comment I wrote yesterday?1 Bad, bad Blogger! :(
Anyway, the place looks really nice. Hope U get settled down soon. And what's up with number 41?!?!?! How did U ever manage to get that far?!
Foulla - Yeah, I've got quite a few moves under my belt.
Sappho - Silly, 35 IS alot...lol. Just think, you can always aspire to catch up to me.
Mysfit - Thanks! It's really a very cool place; the mirrored mantle thing is one of my favorite things, too.
Carpy - It is a sweet place and I'm glad that I found it. It'll just be for a short time, but I'll enjoy it while I can. It seems so pristine and perfect now. Give a week...lol.
Terri - Oh, MUCH more room than the Camry! =) The job starts 12/19. I might be shutting off my internet here in a couple of days and at this time, I'm not sure when it'll be set up at the new place. (I've noticed the verification thingy is getting quite complicated. And long.)
Farzad - It certainly beats the Camry for head room and indoor plumbing. It is a temp place but I'm going to make it as comfy as possible... I deserve it! =)
Anduin - Thanks =)
Fence - Oh no, I still manage to accumulate clutter. One would think it'd be different. Yeah, 40 times and I'm not even running from the law... go figure.
Nomad - Lol... I bring my therapist with me so there is no prob - have therapist, will travel. Repeatedly. =) If I could find a way to get indoor plumbing in the Camry, that'd solve alot of problems.
Stacy - Yep, 40. And keep in mind that I've been at the same address for 6 years. So that was previously 39 moves in 29 years! I'll tell ya - I can hardly wait til it's warm enough to have a beer on the deck!!! =)
Me - Very nice to see you... sorry if Blogger was bad. I couldn't get to any blogs yesterday! #41 will be in about 6 months, well, I'm assuming, anyway. Unfortunately some of my moves years ago were made to avoid someone for safety and from there, it sort of became a way of life. Now I get edgy if I live somewhere too long. =)
New beginnings for you too, eh?
The digs look spendid and I am sure you are going to have tons of fun decorting it and turning it into "Lucy's lair"... hehe.
I am looking for office space to set up new offices, and although it is exciting, it takes up a lot of my time.
Good luck! {lotsa hugs}
you know what they say about a rolling stone gathers no moss. it's all cobblers of course but change can be good. long time no read but i've been busy with my new job.
Keep on keepin on!
Chitty - I like the sound of that... ,y lair.... No telling what (or who) could end up there. =) Yeah, next time we need to move and make these big changes NOT around the holidays. For me, that would mean without snow, too... Keep up updated on everything.
Prisoner - And a new job for you, too! Must be something in the water. I stopped at your blog a little while back and you appeared to be taking a little break. We all need it every now and then, right? I've been feeling those cobbles on my way down, trust me. =)
not cobbles, cobblers as in someone who mends shoes. let me rephrase the sentence.
"it's all nonsense of course..."
the new job was the main reason for the break, i seemed to start at precisely the wrong time and had no time for blogging.
Prisoner - I'm firmly against jobs interfering with blogging but it tends to happen that way. And you know, I thought I saw an 'r' in the word the first time I read the comment! Apparently I'm doing some weird auto-editing via the optic nerve these days.
