Have I mentioned that I hate wind?

Well if I haven't, I do. I will never own a convertible. I do not like the wind in my hair. It tangles my hair, makes my ears hurt and dries out my stinkin' eyeballs. Plus, it is just noisy. Blech, to all of it. Blech I say!! So last week we had sustained winds of over 60mph. And when I say sustained, I mean like for two days. That was our base wind speed not including the gusts. What does that get you?

This is the block next to the hospital.
There were six utility poles brought down, poles snapped like matchsticks. Running a hospital on generator power is a bit unsettling.

Meh, just a little FYI while I contemplate my next post. It's in my head already, I'm just reluctant to let it loose.

whoa, that must have been fun to be out in! I imagine nature as a family, this would have been the naughty child that gets bored easily, playing. lol

Kitty - I like breezy. Even breezy out of control... but intense wind just irks my tater. I have no idea what that means but I work with someone who says that all the time. At least now I know where to direct all this crap-ass wind to.... YOU! ;) (Were you just cracking yourself up when you typed that...lol!?)

Rush - Indeed it is, and there's just nothing we can do to change that! =)

Motor - Yes, I can see this wind as the impish kid... yes! Too bad we couldn't give it a 'time out' or a swift crack on the arse. Out of control, I say!

Kitty and Rush - Ok, the last line of Kitty's comment was supposed to go to Rush... I am a dork. Forgive me. And know that it will happen again. ;)

All right I think I have the solution.
We bring in a couple of giant windmills and put them up to reduce the power of the wind and produce electricity.
Sorry to hear it was so bad.
peace

then I think you may live in the wrong part of the country... from what I understand, Ohio is a particularly windy place to be

my friend who moved there is always complaining about the wind - and I am always jealous!!

but I told her she should build a windmill farm and use the wind to help save the planet!! haaaa

Anonant - That may just be the solution! I wonder if I could get a mini one to wear on my head that would act like a lightning rod of sorts to attract the wind before it attacks me!?

Kitty - Uh, ya think? Lol! The past two years the wind has been out of control here. Absolutely relentless. I can hear it again now when only an hour or so ago it was completely calm. They did put a (yes.. ONE) windmill up near work but I bet the wind blew that puny thing across the state line.

I'm with you on the wind thing. I hate it for it's constant noise and the dust that gets in everywhere, and the way it pushes & pulls at me whenever I dare to step outside, and the hair that snaps in my faces... it all combines to make me really cranky!
So yep, I sympathise.
I know it has it's purpose in Nature, but I don't have to like it.

Bloody hell! That's some wind damage. I don't like it, and yet I live by a breezy coast. It whistles down my chimney and blows soot back into the room!

Hope all is well! GD xx

Terri - Oh yeah, the hair whipping into the face... right into your lip gloss is always a favorite. Not. Then you have mini colored, shimmery streaks radiating outward from your mouth. Not a fan of that look!

Ginger - It really is amazing how forceful it is. Especially when it is something that cannot directly be seen. Oh, don't you just love the chimney whistle!? When wind is creeping back into my house, I think it's kind of strange. Soot coming in is not my idea of a good time, either. Ah, the things we put up with! =)

I like the wind when it's warm. But I have little hair left. Probably why I'm building a drop top car in my garage.

Glenn - I do suppose that is one less thing to be concerned over, right? My biggest peeve is that it hurts my ears, even warm wind. And I still have two ears left. ;)
