But that's not really it. And it's not for shallow reasons, you should know me better by now.
This post is sheerly for amusement although I am not a fan of how I need to go about demonstrating said point of amusement. I'm actually breaking a huge rule of my own here. But this amuses me, so I'm just going to go with it for now.
See, I just got my hair cut. For the second time in a row, my stylist has fashioned my red tresses into a real life anime 'do'.
Perhaps it doesn't translate well via hastily shot photos, but trust me... I am lookin' like one of those genderless lil' things in the cartoons! Ok, at least my hair. The rest of me was in sweats, hardly any makeup and growing more tired on my busy day off. I don't recall any anime characters in that exact state.
So anyway, in order to show you, I have to meet you... here's me in my aniME do.
Haha! Note the skulls on my shirt; or Jolly Rogers as my friend calls them. I feel soooo awkward. This post may self destruct at any time. Possibly even before I post it. ;)

i am SERIOUSLY loving your 'do, LiVEwiRe--the color, the cut, the panache! if i had the kind of hair that wouldn't flop limp-flat the moment you cut it, i would be more experimental. okay, so maybe i'm biased. because i love anime. and yes, i dress in gothic lolita when the mood strikes.
I LOVE IT!! I wish I could do stuff like that with my hair
and I LOVE the 3rd picture down... you look scary!! hehehe like seriously scary... it really captures your inner sociopath
p.s. I didn't know you had a friend hehehe
seeeeee - that's the kind of assholey stuff I'm talking about - not potentially helpful blunt honesty... just 'funny' little pokes
~sigh
illyria - Thanks hon! I really know nothing of anime but I saw a similarity in the hair. You've got the long, dark, thick hair that I wish I had but apparently cannot produce. So I've made my own hair fun, I suppose. And you have 'streak experimentation'! My guess is you can pull off a fantastic Gothic Lolita look! My stylist has been a recurring base model as well as cover model for Gothic Beauty magazine.
Kitty - Thanks!!! Lol, my inner sociopath; I like that. Often, it's not too well hidden. You also have long, dark, wavy hair but mine just won't do it. I end up looking like some kids worn down, dragged out grubby baby doll with icky locks. Other than a horrid, therapy inducing incident when I was 14, this is the shortest it has been. Having the sides longer is my security blanket. No offense taken at the 'friend' comment, I say the SAME things. Besides, I compensate them well for their troubles. ;) I'm still laughing at the inner sociopath thing...
I imagined you with black hair, pretty lady. :)
ooohhh, GOTHIC BEAUTY. :) the only trouble with me going completely "gothic" is that i'm naturally tan, so it throws the look a bit off. some people point this out to me, but really, you get only one life...you might as well live interestingly than die boring. well, that's my take on it anyway. you'd be a big hit in asia! especially in japan and HK; the people there are sooooo stylish and unique.
p.s. my sister got more or less the same cut, but the front sides are longer. now, we have the same hair type, so hers fall flat unless she puts loads and loads of product. don't tell her i told you so, but your 'do is way prettier. ;)
Meadow - That is actually the one hair color I've never had but would really like! I don't know if I could pull it off, but I'd sure like to try!
illyria - You know, I never really thought aboutskin tone playing a part in the goth thing. Perhaps in my mind I assume everyone is as pale as I am. I know they aren't but it doesn't seem to translate. Like you said, do what you want if it makes you happy. =) So, you think I'd be a person of interest in asia? I might just have to try that out! ;) I promise I wont spill a word of your hair confession to your sister. Thanks for the compliment!
"worn down, dragged out grubby baby doll with icky locks"
yeah that pretty much describes me... if the baby doll daddy was jabba the hutt
I LOVE your hair! And I love that we get to see you too! THANK YOU!!!
Truly love the hair: color and cut. It looks great on you and goes really well with your skin tone. I'm so jealous!
Kitty - Hey, you can't fool me... Jabba the Hutt didn't HAVE hair...lol.
Anduin - Thanks hon! Although it would be easier to maintain if it wasn't snowy and gusty here all the time. It is kind fun to see which names match up with which blogs, innit?
AWOL-ness has ended, love the hair, would comment on newer posts but this pc at uni is absolutely crap and is not responding to my angry little fingers.
FABULOUS HAIR! Lovely colour of course! The goth thing...I used to be goth and I have naturally transluscent skin so it kinda worked well.
I'll comment on other posts whenI'm back with faithful old Zeus (its sad I named my laptop, but he is a god).

Yay! I'm so glad you didn't delete this post! You're so pretty! (!!!) And your haircut is lovely. I would never be able to take care of such a style, but it looks way cool on you.
I don't think I've ever seen your face. I think you once posted a picture with your hand in it, but that's about it. It's so cool to see people you've "known" for so long.
Also - I like your glasses a lot, and the skull shirt is quite nice.
Ginger Doll - Three cheers for an end to AWOL-ness, although sometimes that's just how life goes, innit? I'm tired of all crappy pcs at this point, can we breed Zeus or something?! (I mean, not us personally, but, you know...). I figured you'd sorta like the hair color! =) As far as fair skin goes, you're pretty much looking at my 'summer tan', too. I do take on a bit of color, but its negligible. Once, I went to a tanning bed every day for a full month - when my mom saw me she said 'hey, I thought you were going to start tanning?' The bags under my eyes lend to a nice undead look, haha.
Anne - You only say I'm pretty because you look at fungus, mold and turkey prints all day! ;) And if I have cool hair, then that's one thing cool on me. I'm good with that. I'm fairly lazy about hair, makeup, etc but I have a stubborn streak a mile wide. I've just found something my hair does without too much difficulty and I beat it into submission with a flatiron and spray.
OMG and to think I almost missed this post during an unexpected extended (almost 2 whole weeks lol!) absence from blogland! You're gorgeous, and I LOVE the hairdo - it so suits you!
Terri - See what can happen if you stray too far from blogland?! ;) So it seems as if the 'do is a hit. Yay! (Thanks sweetie!)
