Tap, tap... is this thing on? {squeeeeeal}
So yeah, I'm not dead. I did end up having a second, much more involved oral surgery, though. So after all the pain over the past two years that these two teeth (formally known as #19 and #20, I renamed them the Evil Twins) have caused they are hopefully nestled snugly in a medical waste barge on their way to being incinerated. All of my insurance was used trying to save them and now I get to pay for this surgery out of pocket. The irony grips me folks.
Anyway. I now have a dead body in my mouth permanently. I needed bone grafts and unless it is major, they don't put a patient through another procedure simply to harvest bone. They get bone-in-a-can. Seriously. Most places in my body wouldn't really freak me out much but my mouth, ew. I'm certain I've ingested some so now that makes me a cannibal as well. Well aren't I just America's sweetheart?
My new cell ringtone is Living Dead Girl. Dig?
Just getting back into the swing of things and I hope to snoop around blogland this weekend to start catching up. Hope everyone is grand. Now, off to eat something. Hmm, pudding, baby food or yogurt? Decisions, decisions.

I'm curious about this 'dead body in mouth' thing...sounds gross but somewhat fascinating to a gore hound (sicko?!) like me.
Sounds like you had a rough time. Take care - GD x
I hope you heal up very well. I've been having a lot of long delayed dental work this year as well (my poor abused teeth; had I known I'd live so long I'd have taken better care). But I have a very good and gentle dentist.
Still in moving the bookstore mode. It is taking a long time, and driving my partner a bit nuts, but we are getting closer.
I'd opt for pudding. Chocolate.
Do you have lovely milky, gloopy, rice pudding as comfort food in the US? It comes in a tin here, three minutes on the stove and the delightful contents are ready and waiting to be consumed.
Off to raid the cupboard right now...
well, happy to hear that U are alive, although pieces in your mouth are not.
I suggest frozen yogurt ;)
baby food is actually pretty good ya know. take it from someone who had to eat it for three months after her surgery.
and i sure am glad you haven't kicked the bucket. ;)
Ginger Doll - Yeah, it is a bit gross. Fascinating, in a way, still gross. I can now see part of this bone growing just a teeny bit and hope it's not from a psychopath. ;) It isn't a whole bone, either... kind of bone puree, if you will. Yep, a spackling of bone that should induce my own bone to grow. Ha, I accidentally broke a piece off yesterday. THAT was gross. I thought it was a remaining suture and when I went to pull it out...crack. Blech. I am a fan of pudding but I have a major dislike of rice. That being said, rice pudding is good stuff! And tapioca! Most stores here have rice pudding but I'm still looking for one that is 'just right'! =)
Jarvenpa - You poor dear. I empathize. True, if we knew we'd have done a better job, but in some cases, oral health is next to irrelevant. I had a root canal because of a sinus infection that abcessed the tooth, which was otherwise healthy! Still, it all ends up in pain and discomfort and a hefty charge. Hope it all goes well for you! Wait, moving the bookstore?! Geez, I HAVE been out of the loop for way too long! I'm going to have to come see what you are talking about! May things go smoothly! And I hear pudding helps! ;)
Tigress - Lol, I'm 'mostly' alive and well then, right? As long as most of me is alive I shouldn't complain! Ooh, I like to freeze regular cups of yogurt and let them thaw a few minutes before I devour them. Or, I mean, eat them delicately. =)
KT - Seriously, I'm learning about all the new flavors of babyfood! I used to be a fan of peach cobbler, apricot with tapioca (not the mixed fruit - must be with tapioca) and hawaiin delight. YUM. I'm not a big fan of fruit (its a texture thing) so I feel good about getting some sort of fruit. They laugh at me at work but I smugly know my little snack is better than their vending machine find! Btw, I'm glad I didn't kick the bucket either!
Oh god no, not tapioca...that is the most vile creation known to man (save slugs).
It's basically frog spawn.
God to know u still around my friend
GD xx
Ginger Doll - So I take it you aren't a fan? And slugs are kind of cure with their wiggly ears/antennae/antlers or whatever they are. I love the fact that tapioca freaks you out but transplanting another persons bones into my mouth holds a fascination. =) Hope all is well!
