Twisted Transistor

Within the last week I've been sick in three different manners; my system has been thrown for a loop from stress, most likely. I've had to explain to grown men at work how to piss IN the toilet... not ON it. I got the promotion. My coworker is skating on thin ice because of psychotic outbursts and serious antisocial behavior (impeding her work) and may not be there much longer if it continues. As I said to someone a few days back, this promo may be akin to being elevated to first mate on the Titanic. In addition, serious discussions are in the works about how much longer Benny will be among the living. When I imagine holding life and death in my hands, it is typically that of some human idiot, not a feline one. Additionally, I'm in the process of severing more ties and have nothing yet to replace them. Yay, emptiness and more time to brood. All of these things leave LiVEwiRe in a bit of a tense state of mind. In a way, it's good... it's putting up the buffer again. I'm swinging between being sweet natured with some and drilling the 'don't even think of fucking with me or I'll rip off your arm and beat you with it' look into others. This buffer is called self preservation. It has served me well in the past. Not associated, when I get my hair cut in a couple of weeks, it's going mostly black. There will still be red, but to be honest, if I had the money, I'd get extensions and have almost a red/black striped effect. No such luck; no funding. But it would work better for my headbanging. So, back to the point of this... self preservation. I'm getting a bit of an icy shell because I'm getting pissed at the idiocy I'm encountering everywhere; but it kind of numbs me to it to an extent...

Which brings me to something I wanted to link you to. I'm putting lyrics (of course) and noting the ones that seem to speak to me the most at this moment. I'm giving you a link to visit the band Korn's site.... GO TO IT! This is one of the most visually cunning sites I've seen in quite a while but you have to navigate the site to get it to move... so try it! If you are inclined to watch a funny video spoof, check out their video to this song... none of the 'real' band members are performing in it and it has a lovely cameo by Snoop Dogg. I laughed; alot. The audio for this song is on there as well - it's good to listen to it to put it in context and add a sense of feeling to the lyrics. This song is sort of how I'm being pushed to feel at the moment. Eh, give me another few days and it may change - you know how I am.

"Twisted Transistor"
(Korn)

Hey you, hey you, Devil's little sister
Listening to your Twisted Transistor
Hold it between your legs
Turn it up, turn it up
The wind is coming through
Can't get enough

A lonely life, where no one understands you
But don't give up, because the music do
Music do [x6]

Because the music do
And then it's reaching
Inside you forever preaching
Fuck you too
Your scream's a whisper
Hang on you
Twisted Transistor

Hey you, hey you, finally you get it
The world ain't fair, eat you if you let it
And as your tears fall on
Your breast, your dress
Vibrations coming through
You're in a mess

A lonely life, where no one understands you
But don't give up, because the music do
Music do [x6]

Because the music do
And then it's reaching
Inside you forever preaching
Fuck you too
Your scream's a whisper
Hang on you
Twisted Transistor
Music do [x4]

Hey you, hey you, this won't hurt a bit
This won't hurt a bit, this won't hurt
Says who? Says who?
Anesthetize this bitch
Anesthetize this bitch, anesthetize!
Just let me be
Between you and me don't fit

Because the music do
And then it's reaching
Inside you forever preaching
Fuck you too
Your scream's a whisper
Hang on you
Twisted Transistor

Ok, so go to the site... it's very cool. Even if you keep the sound off, it's worth the visit. Click around and see where it takes you.

Off to try to get some sleep now. Sleep should at least make me feel better physically as I can't get to a doctor until Friday. Yeah, good thing I'm not sick or anything. Other than that, all is well. Oh, and I just realized I've been blogging for a year... back to the start here.

When the arctic wind of idiocy blows, turn your back on it. Somehow it's easier to weather that way.

Where would we be without music to help us get through life?

Congrats on the one year. I just realized that I've been on here a year next week. Seems like we got started about the same time.

Attention: LiVEwiRe is sick; comments will resume when I no longer feel like I have giant hockey pucks stuck inside my ear canals. And also... way to go Steelers!

It's one of them ironical things that you work in a hospital, but can't get to a doctor until Friday

Congrats on promotion, congrats on happy blogday and bummer about feeling shit.

I don't think I want to hear of you going less red but women do have that advantage of men in that they can change hairstyles and colours with gay (ahem) abandon and give their state of mind a good boost.

Get well soon.

Hope your feeling better, Livewire. If you relay your symptoms, maybe I'll even do a song for you. ;)

Kindly spot me an apostrophe and an "e" for my "your" faux pas. Thanks!

Yes, livewire, hope you are feeling better. Emailed you from a mysterious email account regarding your birthtime and so on. If it didn't get into your junk mail and lost, and if you want to send me info, you can respond. Or not; it's cool...

Must say that I liked the "anesthetize this bitch" part of the lyrics. Wouldn't that just be cool for a while. I honestly hope that you are feeling better babes!!! I can't believe you have only been blogging for a year - you are such a pro!!! Love your blog and don't you dare go away.

Hope you're feeling better, Livewire....all that stuff going on in your life right now would be downright draining!!!

Take care!

~Yes, I'm still sick... but I had to get out of bed for a few minutes. Just time for a few brief comments... ~

Dr O2 - Aha! Another Korn fan?! Glad you checked out the site.

Carpy - Hard to believe it's a year for me. I don't plan on shutting up any time soon, not to worry...lol.

Anne - Thanks, thanks, and thanks. =) Especially for the last one.

Terri - I'm sure I'll get the crap at work settled. I'm too stubborn not to. If I could just rid myself of this pesky plague...

Fence - You poor dear. FIVE of them?! At least it was related urine.

Jason - Hmmm. Perhaps that's how I got sick... the arctic wind of idiocy. Sounds plausible, right? There has been alot around.

Heidi - The promo hasn't even been announced as far as I know. No big deal, really. Then again I've been off sick the past 2 days. As for Benny, the clock is ticking. If he could just learn to not be, uh, insane. Hard to believe so much time has gone by with our blogs, isn't it? I've been awful at checking blogs lately but I know that I can always stop by yours leave with a smile. So I should be saying Happy Anniversary to you for your blog origin, too. =)

John - Music gets me through where other things can't. And it's been a year for you, too? Wow, hard to believe. Except I think you managed to pass your 'cooties' to me up here!

Kyknoord - Lol... yep, ironical indeed. I thought of just nonchalantly passing out on his doorstep but I figured I'd end up getting hauled away for loitering and missing my Friday appointment in the end.

Motor - Thanks; and I never doubted your aim! ;)

Terri - Thanks, I'm trying to feel better but apparently I'm the Hostess with the Mostess according to these germs. Get them off! Ack!

Nomad - Thanks, thanks, and I feel ya. On the good side, missing 2 days of work does not financially permit professional hair coloring. Hair remains red. Can it remain red with gay abandon? =) (I needed that giggle, thank you! Of course it made me start coughing, but it was worth it...)

Jason - Well, I haven't succumbed to an overly mucousy death yet, so I'm remaining positive. Lots of rest is still needed. Lol.. a song you say? Oh, I'm not sure the world is ready to hear the details!!! =) (And for you, I'll spot you an 'e' and an apostrophe without problem. And one in reserve just for catching it! Not that you'll need it ;))

Jarvenpa - Hi hon, and thanks. I did get a certain mysterious email and will get that info to you within a day or so. My bed has been pulling me to it for the past 48 hours and I can't reach my PC from there.

Buddess - Isn't that the greatest line? Often I wish for that but then realize we all have our own ways to anesthetize ourselves, but not the ways that first come to mind. And yes, I've been flapping my jaws (er, fingers) on here for a year now. Just doing my part to spread my nonsense all over the world. =)

Stacy - I do think it's all the stress that put me in the position to get sick. And those pesky germs. Thanks!

The Wheel - Hmmm.... who could this be?! =) You are a sneaky one. Oh, and this reminds me.... I have some pics to go look at, don't I?

Memphis - Yes, that's what I say... all fun here, all the time! (Gag) And yeah, blogging was temporarily on hold - if I sat upright my nose would run. Makes for a messy keyboard.

Alex - Thanks! Can you email me some antibiotics?
